Subject: Report # 151: Breaking into my car
Hallo folks!
So I managed to lock myself out of my car w=ile the engine was running... Called police. Then the guy was on his way h=
called me for directions and when he was close I thought I saw his car an= flagged him down. Since I live on a
construction site he took a piec= of wood and was about to break into my car via the open window in the bac=seat. I
was like: "Wait! That's not very professional! Don't =ou have tools???"
Meanwhile, my mobile rings and some guy says: "Mam= I can't find you. Please give me directions - "Turns out the =an
about to break into my car is not the policeman... Oh goody...
After the guy from the police (or who knows at this point si=ce he comes in an unmarked car) has opened my cardoor in
less than 30 secs=(makes you worried right there) I give him a passport copy. He says he doe=n't need it, but I insist
since I'm sure he has to give it to his =upervisor. He says: "I asked you if this was your car and you said ye=. Khalas."
Honestly, only in the Arab world.
I'm thinking about going to Thailand with a colleag=e or by myself. Not sure I'll be able to stand someone for 7 days...
l='s so cheap that I can afford to go by myself. The weird part is that =ven though I've moved to
and on my own, I'm hesitant to go for vacation to Thailand by myse=f. It's so far...
Take good care of yourselves!
