From: Camilla Reksten-Monsen < Subject: Mongolia Advisory Board meeting - Today. 6pm (Davos time) Date: Fri, 24 Jan 2014 13:06:19 +0000 Dear all, The meeting with the President of Mongolia will take place today, at 6pm local time, in the presidential suite at the Intercontinental Hotel in Davos, Switzerland. The agenda will cover the topics that the President of Mongolia wishes to discuss with the members of the Advisory Board. These points will be further developed into a concept note that will be drafted by IPI, in close coordination with the members of the Board, over the next 4 months. The concept note will form the basis of an action plan for Mongolia, to be completed in the next 3 years. The agenda items of today's inaugural meeting of the Advisory Board are: 1) Raising Mongolia's international profile, taking into account its history, transition from dictatorship to democracy in the past twenty years, and vast potential. 2) Mongolia's social welfare programs, to the benefit of the people. 3) Mongolia's fiscal policies and macroeconomic tools, including the structure and functions of the sovereign fund and its investment portfolio. 4) Mongolia's "Third Neighbors" policy, with proposals for further development of this cornerstone in the country's foreign policy. 5) Recommendations related to the stability of its democracy and the regional security context, based on further development of Mongolia's democratic and human rights agenda for the people's well-being and security. On the first item, Terje will speak on the possibilities he sees in this field. On the second item Kjell Magne might sketch some possibilities based on the Norwegian model. On the third item, Larry and Jeff might explore and ask questions about how these items today are handled by the Mongolian government and might offer some preliminary thoughts. On the fourth item, Kevin will explore Mongolia's relationship with its two neighboring countries, Russia and China, and enquire about the Mongolian third neighbors policy. On the fifth item, Ehud may ask questions regarding the current situation and discuss possibilities in this field. Warm regards, Terje Participants (in-person or via conference call): Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, President of Mongolia EFTA00676517 Lundeg Purevsuren, National Security and Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Mongolia Ehud Barak, Israeli politician Kjell Magne Bondevik, President, the Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights Jeffrey Epstein, Financier Kevin Rudd, former Prime Minister of Australia Larry Summers, Charles W.
