Here is a little run down on life in St. Barths this week. I went sailing the other day on photographer Patrick Demarchelier's gorgeou= 60 foot Swan (built in Denmark) with a navy hull and matching spinnaker.= Patrick was actually bedecked in matching rumpled blue linen shirt and Be=mudas....as only a world class fashion photographer could color coordinate=the day. Misha Baryshnikov and his filmmaker wife Lisa Reinhart were on the boat...a= he had a photo exhibition of dancers in the port town of Gustavia that ni=ht. We had a wonderful conversation about his films..."White Nights" with Grego=y Hines in particular. It was directed by Taylor Hackford, who at the tim= was having an affair with Helen Mirren (whom he later married)...lots of =ntrigue on that set. Helen coming to Broadway in "The Audience"...a must see. We all chatted for two hours while Patrick and his crew worked like dogs pu=ling ropes, adjusting sails and making the boat fly over the water. It was a wonderful treat to find Misha in St. Barts as he has not been here=in years because he has a home in the Dominican Republic for 15 years next=door to his friend Oscar de la Renta...and now widow Annette. OK...I am having a terrific time here and went to Larry Gagosian (with Chri=sie Erpf) and Dasha Zhukova ( as you know, married to Russian billionaire=Roman Abramovich, with a 500 foot yacht "Eclipse", in the harbor) New Yea='s Eve party for 200 fabulous and more fabulous. Guests.... show biz people, including Leo DiCaprio, Selma Hyack, Darrin Aronofsky, Tob= Maguire, Chris Rock and Cloe Signivy. Also artists in attendance were Urls Fischer, Richard Prince, Harmony Korin=, Patrick Demarchelier along with Jimmy Buffet and new tech billionaire Ja=k Dorsey (as you know he invented Twitter). Then an assortment of hedge fund guys ...our present day Medici patrons of =he arts such as Debbie and Leon Black, Debbie and David Rubin, Len Blavatn=k, Catie and Don Marron, Bill Bell, Nicholas Berggreun, Tico Magrabi, Sama=tha and Abby Rosen....and Roman Abramovich. Socials included Derek Blasberg and Nick Brown, Lyor Cohen and new girlfrie=d Chin, Wendy Murdoch, Svetlana and Alexi, more Russian billionaires...and=Princess Beatrice....shockingly staying on yenta Susan Hess's boat. Also went sailing yesterday with Milly and Arne Glimcher on 125 foot sliver=sleek chic sloop "Ghost" in a race around the island. Seven adorable Austr=lian crew made the boat keel over with all of us sitting on the high side =or ballast. Had/have lunch every day either with Larry Gagosian and Chrissie, or Samant=a and Aby Rosen, or Brooke and Dan Neidich or Sarah and Izak Senbahar on F=amand Beach.. Everyone on the beach has been super inclusive and totally =ice to me. Hope your holiday has been restful and fun. I know you mentioned coming to St. Barths to take me to your island...but a=sumed you were too settled to move....) actually was OK here...I still wou=d love to see your private paradise. Tomorrow is my last day. I got a ride home on Catie and Don Marron's plane on Saturday. When are you in NYC? I have six events next week! Want to see invites and=come? Will send.
