Good Day Ana,
I have analyzed some costs for asphalt surface treatments. The most cost effective c would be to use the locally
available chips or screened materials which costs about $0.59 per square ft. in place. The color of this material is grayish
blue and gray with some hints of brown. Another option is more colorful aggregates which would have to be imported
and would cost about $0.79 per square ft. in place. The colors for the imported material can vary depending on the
source. The way that the surface treatment would be applied is to shake them onto freshly laid asphalt surface then roll
the material into the pavement creating a monolithic course while exposing just enough aggregate to create the desired
effect, which also improves skid resistance. The surface area on LSJ to be paved is @ 13,000 square yards. So, the added
costs of the aggregates would range between $69,030.00 and $92,430.00. Please feel free to contact me if there are any
questions.
Kindest Regards,
