We are all being as legally diligent and we follow the KYC (know your customer) laws. We're basically doing nothing that the digital gold companies aren't doing and we have all the money (unlike e-gold :P) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-golc114Crime_and_fraud E-gold definitely committed gravely criminal and immoral deeds. We haven't done anything immoral or criminal. Still, you have been around for a lot longer and we are outsiders to the real world. Your concerns are now concerns of mine. 1) Powerful people will not like us 2) Powerful people get their way regardless of what the truth is 3) No big system is without corruption and the US government while good compared to many developing countries is very far from perfect Still, I have to have some blind faith in judges who are not just cogs in a wheel but real people. From a speeding ticket I got to my readings about the supreme court, judges seem to be respectable people. In a country of 300 million people there are bound to be many true horror stories. I can only hope they are the exceptions. Also, sometimes stories are deeper than they first appear and corruption on the justice level may not be very bad: Examples - 1) The McDonald's hot coffee lawsuit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebeck_v._McDonald%27s_RestaurantsiThurn_incident It was sensationalized to suggest people sue for any old thing nowadays but really she needed skin grafting and was treated like shit by McDonalds after trying to only get 520,000 which was the estimated medical costs. If you read the whole ordeal it's a truly different story. 2) al Simpson - the only reason he's doing so much jail time (basically life) for armed robbery is because he killed 2 people and everyone knows. 3) The Liberty Dollar guy - As we talked about this yesterday (Unlike us, most people only know half the story and think he is some martyr, instead of the negligent and scummy guy he was) People definitely get away with too much stuff, get accused of too much stuff and people who have absolutely no support or money and already a criminal record get falsely imprisoned a lot though, I agree. EFTA_R1_02033064 EFTA02691285 I will likely be talking to a relatively high up US lawyer who operates in the commercial/financial sector on Monday. He is doing me a favor for free. I have also compiled a small list of charities that I like and I will stay in New York to talk to at least one. Before I ever got involved with bitcoin, I donated $10,000 which is not a measly sum relative to my earnings to charitywater.org. I also incurred no tax benefits for that donation. It was purely altruistic. They are respectable but operationally actually not that big. Still they have a lot of good PR. Their strategy is killer and will revolutionize charities. They are 100% transparent and all their money goes straight to the projects. Also, Julian Assange will have a 2 day high court hearing starting on the 12th. I'll let you know how that goes. Thanks for your time and advice. I hope we'll remain in contact. I'll be in NYC I think at least until Wednesday.
