Lesley,
Since I have had no feedback, I don't know if I am sending the right things or not. I am trying to focus on what
the great men in the large homes around Fifth Avenue at the turn of the century (so-called 'robber barons')
purchased, but I don't know I can certainly send more formal things if Mr. Epstein likes French or Italian, etc.
Here are two quite fine complete suits of armor. They are from a very good collection, early 19th century, and
19,500. each. The swords are not included. The robber barons used to fight over who had the best armor in
their possession so this was one of their passions.
The limestone capital is sitting in my front window and the photo is terrible. It is from 350BC. It belonged to
Prof. Harry Bober, the Medieval expert and I purchased it from his son David. It is 24" w x 17" high x 8" deep on
a custom iron stand. I would take 4000. for it. It is from Alexandria.
I do appreciate your sending the photos on.
Best,
Annita
