Hi Jim -- I haven't heard back from you regarding Ms. so I think I will need to bring her to the grand jury. I would
like to do this the afternoon of Friday, October 20th. Please let me know if I can fax over a subpoena or if you would like

Hi Jim -- Thank you for the e-mail, and I will even forgive the football reference. I was just set for trial, so the earliest I will
be able to reschedule the testimony will be after Thanksgiving. I will give you a call to discuss the immunity issue but I am
concerned about other things we have talked about -- if Ms. Miller is given immunity, will she be forthcoming and answer
the questions? Or am I going to jump through hoops to get her immunity and then have to worry about filing motions to
compel, motions for orders to show cause why she shouldn't be held in contempt, etc., etc.?
As always, thank you for your assistance.

Marie

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. I have been out of town for several weeks. As to Miss Miller, she still does not
wish to testify in this case and has a Fifth Amendment basis for her position. She wishes not to accept the "proffer letter "
cover of immunity, which again is her right. I think it is a waste of time to have her appear Friday to just take the Fifth. I
suggest that you huddle with your people. (It is football season). If you want to push the issue you will have to get formal
immunity. I will accept service now and in the future for you so you don't have to chase Tatum down. Jim Eisenberg

Hi Guy -- It was very nice to hear from you. I am starting trial next week, so I will be difficult to catch for the next three
weeks or so. Regarding Mr. Epstein, there isn't much to tell. The investigation is continuing. As I told Mr. Lefcourt, Mr.

Hi Cyndee -- We haven't made travel plans yet. With respect to the hotel, Shawn was told that we need to have all of the
names of our "group" before they will designate a hotel. I am waiting to hear back from the local law enforcement
invitees.
It sounds like I have to be there on the evening of December 3rd and everyone has to stay through noon on December 6th.
I have asked Shawn to coordinate everything, and I will press the locals to give us a decision right away.

Ili Alex --
I wanted to let you know that Terri Patterson recommended two individuals to invite to the Conference, Sergeant Erik
Palmer from the Miami-Dade Police Department and Detective Richard Love from the Special Investigations Unit at the
Ft Lauderdale Police Department. Erik is on board and is very happy to attend. I have not heard back from Detective
Love yet. From Palm Beach County, Captain Carol Gregg of the Special Investigations Unit at PBSO is going to attend.
I am feeling very guilty about not inviting anyone from the northern counties, but we must get special permission to
extend our group. So, if Detective Love cannot attend, would you like me to invite someone else from Broward or
someone from up north? And/or would you like me to apply for permission to include someone from one of the northern
counties?
On another note, we had talked about doing a PSC road show to meet with state and local law enforcement agencies.

Marie and Andy,
Our former colleague, Lilly Ann Sanchez, called to say that she has been retained in the Epstein matter.
Since I participated in the conference call between Marie and Guy Lewis, Lily and the rest of the lawyers representing
Epstein believe that this matter's importance has been elevated. I tried to disabuse Lily of that notion and told her that my
participation was coincidental. I instructed her to call Marie regarding anything she wanted to bring to our attention. She
said that Epstein wanted to be as transparent and cooperative as possible and wanted to make sure that the office has
everything.

have space, however, the Conference will not pay for the extra guest, the Office will have to pick up the tab for travel,

Jeff approved the additional agent (I am assuming it is just one and the other agents that their agency is paying for them)
for this upcoming conference. We need your support staff to prepare a travel auth request form the traveler and a
Invitational Travel Memo which explains/justifies why the office considers this expense beneficial to the program/mission.
The memo should be approved by Jeff and sent to Helen Grill, along with the travel request form. Tammy can provide
your support staff more administrative/fiscal guidance if necessary. Let me know if you have any question or concems.

Alex and Jeff -- I just received word from the conference that they are overbooked but may be able to accommodate a
fourth local law enforcement officer. They will confirm with me tomorrow whether they have space. Even if they do
have space, however, the Conference will not pay for the extra guest, the Office will have to pick up the tab for travel,
hotel, etc.
Before I extend the invitation to our northern brethren, I thought I should ask whether the Office has the funds available to
cover those expenses.
Please let me know.
Thank you.

Subject: Project Safe Childhood Conference
Hi Alex --
I wanted to let you know that Terri Patterson recommended two individuals to invite to the Conference, Sergeant Erik

How does your schedule look for November 28th through the 30th? And do you have any particular topics you want to
discuss or people whom you want to see?
Thank you.

Hi Bob, Corey, and Diana -- There is going to be a national Project Safe Childhood Conference in Washington, DC,
during the week of December 3rd. We have received tentative approval to pay the expenses of a local/state law
enforcement officer to attend, and I was hoping that you could recommend someone that you work with regularly to
attend. A number of courses are being offered on topics like forensics, the spread of child pornography, and the
psychology of the child predator, so it should be pretty interesting and it would be a nice "thank you" for someone who
has worked hard in this area.
We are at the top of the waiting list for a spot, so they are going to tell me today if we get the spot and I have to tell them
today who is going to fill the spot, so if you could get back to me this morning, it would be most appreciated.
I will need to provide contact info and an e-mail address for whomever is going to attend. I am happy to call to extend the
invite, or if you would rather call directly, the conference starts the morning of December 4th and ends at noon on
December 6th, so travel will be the afternoon of December 3rd returning the afternoon of December 6th. The only
expenses that the officer/agent will have to cover are some meals.
Thank you!

Hi Karen -- I have registered again and I received my confirmation notice. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I'm not sure why the info didn't "take" the first time.
I have received a number of calls from the law enforcement officers regarding the "dress code" for the conference. I didn't
see any information about that on the website, and I was wondering what I should tell them.
And, any news yet on my request for a spot to bring a fourth law enforcement officer?
Thank you!

All - I have checked the list this morning and although you are invited, you are not completely registered.
You still have to go back into the registration website, with your unique usemame (your email address)
and password (5-digit number) and complete the registration. This information is contained in the email
invitation you received shortly after you sent the invitations. You will be certain that you have completed
the registration process when you receive a confirmation email (I've attached mine as example). The
website will remain open through today.
Please call Craig or I if you have any questions or need assistance with your registration.
Thanks!

Hi all -- I just received an e-mail from EOUSA letting tne know that the conference is overbooked and they will not be
able to accommodate another law enforcement officer.
From our dealings with the event organizers, it appears that they underestimated the popularity of the event and they have
run out of hotel rooms, conference rooms, and exhibition space.
Alex and I are planning a trip up to Fort Pierce after we return, and hopefully, at that time, we can meet all of the law
enforcement officers that work with the Office.

We announced this a few months ago, but I think there may have been some confusion. The Attorney General is
launching a national PSA campaign for Project Safe Childhood in February of 2007. These ads will be tailored for you to
use in your Districts, eliminating the need for you to develop your own. And eliminating our need to have to approve all
of your ads. For those of you who have already started working on PSAs for PSC or are considering such work, please
call/email me so we can discuss.
On a larger issue, any and all Public Service Announcements that you would like to use the DOJ seal on must be vetted
by the Office of Public Affairs before production. If someone locally approaches you wanting to partner on a PSA, you
will need to contact OPA before signing on.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions/concerns.
Thanks,
Kim
