Dear Jeffrey.
Following our discussion last week, please find below or attached the following:
1. Metrics of "what success looks like" 12 to 18 months from now
2. Our advisory services agreement
3. Advice on the phone hacking litigation — we should move fast
"What success looks like"
The following is what we believe to achievable in a 12 to 18 month timeframe. provided that we are focused and disciplined:
• Achieved the lowest possible profile in the UK and US tabloid press
• Built decent relationships with the chief tormentors of the last several years, including but not limited to the Daily Mail. Mail on
Sunday, New York Post
• "Cleaned up" your Google search so that no references to the Florida charges/ paedophilia/ underage girls etc. feature in the first
10 search results: and are minimised in the first 100 search results
• Established a positive and thorough web profile of you and your philanthropic activities
• Built five to ten important relationships with top editors and columnists, including the Times. Journal. Financial
Times, Economist and Business week — to the extent they write from time to time about your business, philanthropic and
geopolitical activities
• Re-established your position in international political circles, especially outside the US, with a focus on Europe, the Middle East
and the BRIG markets
• Put in place a first class and renowned Scientific Advisory Board of your Foundation consistent with your reputation among
scientists
• Have executed (or be in the advanced stages of planning) the first of what would be an annual summit or conference which
brings together your business and philanthropic interests — this could be a joint initiative with the Abu Dhabi monarchy
Our client agreement
Please find attached our usual client agreement. It includes a robust confidentiality agreement, but if you have any additional non-
disclosure agreements, we are fine with those. Assuming that you want to continue, please could you have your lawyers review the
document and provide us with the details of the relevant entity.
Advice on phone hacking
I have included a separate short note on what we discussed last week. In light of the FBI investigation announced yesterday. and
Attorney General Holder's comments this morning, we believe you should not delay in proceeding with the first stage - which is to see
whether your name and numbers appear in the evidence seized by the Metropolitan Police from News International and Glenn Mulcaire.
With your consent, we will interview and appoint one of the leading UK lawyers pursuing these cases but time is of the essence if you
are to receive priority from the Met Police.
Please feel free to call me at any point. My cell is +44 7795 568322.
Best wishes,
Ian
