Good Morning,
In response to your Instructions to move the Fishtail Palms, please consider the following;
- The five Fish Tail Palms, that we planted on the western side of the Tiki house, were put there to replace the
bottle palms, as you instructed.
- As you approach and leave LSJ by boat, you most often pass the western side of the Tiki House as the boat
travels along the beach to and from the dock. That being said, the western side of the Tiki House is Very visable,
so whatever is planted there will be seen quite frequently.
- Having a prolific, bushy foliage producing plant/ palm such as the Fishtail Palm greatly helps to minimize the
uncomfortable heat of the afternoon sun as it sets, therefore making the Tiki House more comfortable in the
afternoons.
- I am unattached to where you wish to plant your trees, aside from ensuring that they are put in a place where
they can be healthy, grow and thrive.
I have No problem moving them somewhere more to your liking. I would only like to know, where you want
them to be moved to, Please advise.
However I will be leaving them there for a few more days to as long as a week, because they need time to
recouperate,
Soak up water and fertilizer and get stronger.
Perhaps you would allow us to leave them there for now, while we plant the other 100+ trees we have, until you
can see them for your self, and if you decide to still move them, you will be here to select another place for them.
*Please Note that Fishtail Palms do Not take transplanting aswell as many other species of Palm trees, such as
Coconut or Date Palms for example.
Thank you for your consideration,
Igala Joseph
