My name is Michael Bute, President of the St. Thomas Baseball Explorers. The Explorers is a non-profit organization consisting of little leaguers with "Major League Dreams". The Explorers have represented the territory in numerous tournaments locally and abroad. Our success rate tops all little league teams that have ever represented the territory, since our existence. The Explorers will be celebrating its 15th year of existence In 2011. The Explorers won its first championsh ip in 1996 at the Santo Domingo Diamond Classic. Our most recent championships were won at Cooperstow n, New York Baseball World in 2009 and 2010. This year we are invited to the Cal Rlpken Experience Tournamen t in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The players are excited and look forward to the new atmosphere, teams, and the opportunity to gain a title in South Carolina. Our 2011 trip will cost well over $48,000.00. Our expenses include airfare, hotel, ground transportatio n, new uniforms, and registration fees of $695.00 per player and coach. Our goal is to raise enough funds so that all (17) players can participate. The Explorers are soliciting your business to sponsor a child's registration fee or give your donated support with a written or verbal response. The 2011 Explorers (Age 14 and under team)will be seeking a Championship with the following players at the Ripken Baseball Experience Tournamen t to be held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from August 7th to August 12th, 2011: We know that it is businesses like yours that realize our community needs positive avenues, and the Explorers are trying to provide an avenue, both locally and abroad.
