Subject: Serralles Ponce Farm Land
Brice, Karen, and Gary, and All Whom it may concern,
As you know I was sent on a mission to investigate the "palm farm of Senor Jose Blanco" as was directed by LSJ
Management.
I was given his phone number, and told to call him and arrange a date to visit his farm to see, and take pictures,
and gather specific information
relating to the Coconut Palms and other palms/plants available for sale.
On Thursday ,April 22nd, 2010 I flew into San Juan and then drove about 2 hours to the south west side near
Ponce.
I met with Jose Blanco, who is the Farm Manager of Mango Fino, which occupies several Thousand acres of
land.
The exact number a little unclear since more land is constantly added.
I also met with Jose Pablo-Ortiz who is the Manager of Gramas del Sur, which focusses mainly on ;
-Coconut Palms, (which are planted on the marginal costal lands bordering the Mango Fino Orchards) totaling
roughly 300 acres and over 11,000 trees
-Ornamental Palms, (Bismark, Date, Eureka, Foxtail, FishTail, Robalini, Triangle, Bottle, Spindle, Royal)
-Turf grass/sod and Ornamental Plants
The Land is owned by the Serralles Family, who own most of the south west of Puerto Rico, Including most of
the City of Ponce, Don Q Rum, which is "The Real Rum of Puerto Rico" the Distillery (which also produces
2/3rds of all Captain Morgan Products) and related cane fields, Mango Fino, which is a several thousand
acre(slightly over 2,000 acres) Mango Orchard, which produces Mangos for export to the EU, Canada, and US.
(including the Virgin Islands)
The Serralles Family also lease several acres of land to Monsanto to do crop research on Corn and Soybeans.
Horse Breeders, Cattle, Goat, Sheep and other livestock farmers also lease land as well.
There was A LOT to see, I was on their farmland about 4-5 hours driving with "Jose, and Jose" covering
SEVERAL Hundreds of Acres, taking pictures, asking questions, etc.
I will send a few e-mails to break up the photos, and organize them a bit better.
EFTA00771410
This first e-mail is from the office where we started, where I signed their guest log, and was shown these aerial
photos, detailing the land in use of the Serralles Business holdings.
It really puts things in perspective, as far as the size of their operation.
To follow, are the e-mails containing fotos and descriptions of;
-Coconut Palms
-Ornamental Palms
-Ornamental Plants
-Turf Grass/ Sod
*Mango Fino, and *Don Q which is unrelated to us, but it was important to them that I see it, so it's here as well.
Enjoy, and of coarse I'm available to answer any questions you may have.
