Memo, Cara Holmes, 2/27/2011 To: JAG From: DVC You basic question seemed to be if the Cam L. Holmes who had been briefly at RRA had also ever been in law enforcement. You also seemed interested if she was related to Broward County circuit court judge Ilona M. Holmes. I have, so far, conducted my investigation without speaking to ex-RRA folks or friends of Judge Holmes. Cara Lynn Holmes was in Broward County at least as early as 12/08 because she received a traffic citation for a red light violation on 12/5/08. She probably was not carrying a badge at that time because she did et a ticket. She was drivin a 2001 Honda with Florida tags and gave the address Of This address is owned and occupied by David R. and Carolyn E. Love Holmes, relationship unknown. Other than this ticket I found no record of Ms. Holmes in Broward County. Database placed her as Cara Lynn Holmes, with A general search showed her as an attorney in Los Angeles under both Cara Lynn Holmes and Cara Holmes. In one case she showed a New York law license from 1992 and in the other a Pennsylvania license from 1991. A check of both state bars confirmed she was licensed in both states. Her Pennsylvania license notes that she does not carry professional liability insurance "because I do not have private clients and have no possible exposure to malpractice actions,e.g retired, full- time in house counsel, prosecutor, full-time government counsel, etc.), not specified further. I found no Martindale Hubbell listing for her but she apparently graduated from Texas Southern Law School in 1991, the same place Judge Holmes obtained her JD in 1981. Judge Holmes was born in Philadelphia but grew up locally in Deerfield Beach and attending FAU undergraduate. Cara Lynn Holmes shows no prior connections to this area. Cara was admitted to the Florida Bar on 5/4/09 but gave no background info, such as law school, year of graduation, etc. She gave an address of 15751 Sheridan Street, Pembroke Pines, Florida #129. This is a mail drop, Pak Mail, and close to the address she used on the ticket. She gave two phone numbers, , both of which I recognize as the old RRA numbers unless someone from the firm kept the numbers. She belongs to the Young Lawyers Division but, at 44 is stretching that. By this point I had seen nothing which tied her directly to law enforcement I hit more database sources and accumulated an interesting list of previous addresses. In Los Angeles she showed 10573 Pico Boulevard #369, Los Angeles. Legal websites listed this as her address as an attorney. It is a UPS store. Il=and records showed she purchased it for $379,000.00 in 1216 and sold it for $375,000.00 in 8/08. I checked the USDC for the area and found no cases where she had appeared. There was no way to check the state courts. I hit an apartment address in the Alexandria / Quantico, Virginia area in 2002, with a phone 01 a Washington, D.C. cell number. This looked interesting but it was not definite. I then hit an address of k Mill Real estate records in Cook County showed she had purchased this condo in 3/03 and sold it in 9/06, the same time she moved to L.A. I next hit an address and phone number which did tie her directly to law enforcement, the FBI. I hit 219 Dearborn Street, #905, Chicago, Illinois, Up until 2010 219 Dearborn Street, Ninth Floor was the FBI office in the Dirksen Building, was the FBI number. This lead me to the only direct link I have found, an undated snippet from the FBI Press Office in Chicago dealing with a child porn case there where the un-named defendant received 100 years. She is ID'd as "Special Agent Cam Holmes in the FBI's Chicago office." I looked up two cases in USDC in Chicago but she did not show in those case files. I found nothing in the Chicago Tribune archives on Cam Holmes. 44 is very young to leave the FBI. Let me know where you want to go with this. Certainly RRA would have given anyone related to any judge a job but the folks at the newspapers and the Daily Pulp never picked up on this one if she is related to Ilona Holmes.
