Dear Mrs. deJongh: Financial Trust is familiar with the Enid M. Baa Public Library Close-Up Club. Your previous support has helped students from public, private, and parochial schools to attend a week long specifically guided government program in our nation's capital. It included seminars conducted by members of Congress, journalists and other experts. We thank you for your support. We are seeking your support again! Our students have been invited to attend the history making Inauguration 2009 Close Up Program, it includes participation in the Inaugural Parade, the Presidential Oath, Inaugural Address and Close Up Inaugural Ball. The majority of these students are Seniors and have made the decision to forgo their Introductory Nights and Senior Proms and use those monies to help them make it to the Inauguration 2009 Close Up Program. I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. FREDERICK EV. The young people of the Lutheran Church of the Reformation LUTHERAN CHURCH (St Thomas. 1666) (LCR) are planning to attend a church wide Lutheran Youth Gathering in New Orleans, Louisiana from the 19 — 26 of July 2009. The Youth NAZARETH LUTHERAN CHURCH Gathering attracts thousands of young people from Lutheran (St. John. 1720) congregations across the United States, as well as young people from other parts of the world. LORD GOD OF SABAOTH LUTHERAN CHURCH Lutheran Youth Gathering is a spectacular event that each young (St. CfO4X, 1734) person in the Lutheran church should have a chance of attending at least HOLY TRINITY once in his or her life time. The youth gathering offers a unique LUTHERAN CHURCH educational opportunity in a unique environment. The young people who (St. Croix. 1753) attend learn to express their faith through music, prayer, serving the KINGSHILL people in need, and by living out their faith in the presence of their peers. LUTHERAN CHURCH (St. Cf().X. 1937) The gathering also offers workshops on different biblical topics and service projects in which young people learn to help those who are less CHRISIUS VICTOR fortunate than they are. All this is done in a multiracial and multiethnic LUTHERAN CHURCH (St. Croix. 1970) environment with an international flavor. We are eager to give each and every young person in our congregation an opportunity to attend this unique event. The average cost per child is 51,195 LCR is doing its best to help its youth meet the cost. LCR is therWorry appreciative and give its heartfelt thanks for any donation you might be willing to give to enable our young people to be a part of this life changing event. Yours truly, Rev. Fat 340-774-3054 Dear Mrs. de Jongh: wynv.unitedway.vi We at the United Way of St. Thomas-St. John (UW) feel that it is our responsibility to remind all of our donors of the mission of the UW, so that you remain confident of our sincerity and dedication to our community. Our mission is to provide leadership, stimulate generosity, promote volunteerism and first and foremost to allocate resources to make our community a better place for all of us to live. United Way of St. Thomas-St. John supports critically-needed programs that benefit thousands of residents in our community. Our goal is to ensure that these programs continue to be made available to those who are in need of them most, especially in tough economic times. With two new non-profit organizations joining us this year, we will be supporting fifteen member agencies. Many of these agencies could not continue to operate without additional help....help that could only be provided through your generous contributions. Every tax-deductible dollar you give to United Way in support of these agencies is the best investment you can make in your community. Your participation is vital to the success of this year's campaign. Your donation helps to change the lives of thousands for the better, building a brighter future for our children, enriching the lives of our elderly, giving hope to those who are hurting, strengthening families and so much more. It is your generosity that makes it possible for the hungry and the homeless to get back on their feet and move towards independent lives. It also keeps kids on track with healthy recreational activities, and provides compassionate nursing care and transportation to the disabled and elderly. Every dollar that is raised, stays here and reaches out in times of crisis, providing legal assistance, disaster relief, assistance to military families and counselling. The community organizations and people that benefit from your generosity could not otherwise be where they are today without you and your caring. A wonderful thing about you is that you truly understand and recognize this and always respond to it. Please join the "Circle of Help" by giving either through a direct donation now or a pledge for payment at a later date. United Way's effectiveness cannot be felt without your love and magnanimous giving. Today I ask you to continue to reach out and touch those in your community and continue to help change lives. These are your islands, your home, your United Way. EFTA01221559 October 8. 2008 Mrs. Cecile de Jongh Office Manager Financial Trust Company Inc. 6100 Red Hook Quarters B3 St. Thomas, Virgin Islands 00802-1348 Dear Mrs. de Jongh: Virgin Islands Council on the Arts (VICA) in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Institute of Museum and Library Services will sponsor the Territory's second annual 'Big Read'. As you are aware, Big Read is a national initiative that is designed to revitalize the role of reading in American culture. The book that was chosen this year is A Wizard of Earthsea. A Wizard of Earthsea, was first published in 1968 and is the first of a series of books written by Ursula K Le Guin. The story is set in a fantasy world archipelago of Earthsea depicting the adventures of a young wizard named Ged. As a fun and inventive approach to have students participate in this territory wide reading initiative, VICA will host a Fan Fiction competition, where students from C-12"' grade will be given an opportunity to ready the book and write an alternate ending to the book. In addition to the competition we will host a series of activities which includes, but is not limited to book fairs. book readings, discussions and age appropriate book give aways. We hope that your organization will sponsor five thousand ($5,000.00) towards the purchase of books. As one of our sponsors Financial Trust Company, Inc. would be included in all of our promotional material. We hope that your organization see the importance of this reading program and join our efforts to promote reading in the Virgin Islands. On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of VICA we thank you for once again agreeing to be our Big Read spokesperson. For more information on this event please contact Ms. Monique Walters. Grants Officer, at 774-5984 or feel free to visit www.neabioread.orq. Thank you in advance for your contribution.
