[0:1'his Week on Kickstarter
APRIL 19, 2012
It's been an exciting week at Kickstarter. A new project has claimed the title of most
funded (check out The History of #1 on our blog), and this week's projects are as
cool as ever: an eclectic comic collection, a fermented food frenzy, and some good
ol' fashioned snail mail.
The Antler Boy and Other Stories A comic genius
Jake Parker has spent 13 years working as an
artist on everything from toy commercials to
Horton Hears a Who!, but he's never stopped
drawing his own comics on the side. Over time,
his varied collection has grown to include tales
of flying whales, space-exploring robots, and a
little girl who loves to play checkers — each
beautifully illustrated in Jake's signature
eclectic style. His new book will collect them all
The Antler Boy and Other Stories in a single hardcover edition.

Fermented Sauerkraut
The Brine and Dine Live Culture Collective is
not afraid to get a little wild — wild with
its cultures, that is, which they use to make
their funky and fresh raw sauerkraut. Mixing
locally sourced ingredients with old-fashioned
methods, like maturing small batches in
earthenware crocks, they're out to create a
uniquely crispy, tangy version of this classic
fermented foodstuff.

In response to the proposed closure of 3,700
US postal offices comes Post Haste, a mixed-
media art exhibition that reflects on how the
digital age is radically changing our public
institutions, with contributions ranging from
portraits of stamp collectors to a live
transcription service for gallery visitors. Can't
attend? There are still handwritten letters and
original art to look forward to — all delivered
Post Haste the old-fashioned way, naturally!
