I was happy to learn, Peter, that Frankenstorm did not hit Boston too hard, especially compared to the Bobby Valentine storm! A number of friends and family members have been struggling in NY Metro, with ongoing gas shortages reminiscent of the 1974 oil embargo still happening in Westchester. The worst the family of 80+ yo parent of my medschool roommate in LI, now homeless, along with their live-in home health aide. The Institute has recently come upon the enormously good fortune of having the David Lee Rice Law Firm (http://www.lawrice.com/) offer to establish iMABS as a 49420)3 in California pro bono. Mr Lee's associate Elizabeth Olsen JD handles the firm's non-profit work and, I suspect, will be in touch with your firm in the days ahead. I forwarded them the Mass DOR letter you kindly forwarded me this summer so everything in Massachusetts can be addressed. Naturally, I am deferring to the Rice Firm how the best way to proceed in California is and to you how the best way to close out in Massachusetts. PDFs attached and links below are recent publications, print, talks published on web from the Aspen Ideas Festival, New York Academy of Sciences, National PainWeek Symposium, and Stanford Inst for Creativity & the Arts thatgo to iMABS continuing to fulfill its mission, as stated on the "About the Institute" page at www.BrainMusic.org. The Institute page is in the midst of a major overhaul, for which we are seeking support. The Education link at www.BrainMusic.org, with its growing eLibrary and the syllabus of the world's first and longest running interdisciplinary course on the Cognitive Neuroscience of Music, has proven to be a heavily used resource for students and professors around the world. Please don't hesitate to call me at needed.
