Hi Mark, thank you.
Yes, we do need to schedule a conference call with your press conference
group; I'm copying Sarah, who has sent emails about this, but will have
her loop back with you to schedule this, preferably by end of next week,
or very shortly thereafter. You get to name some potential time slots,
then we need to go out to your speakers.

Subject: Press release approval needed today
Hi Dr. Tramo--
Apologies for the small deluge of e-mails from my staff, but I'm writing
about your approval for the music press release for Neuroscience 2009.
(I've attached it again here, and am also including an earlier message
below as to what to look for.)
This coming Thursday, two of our volunteer leaders will meet with media
outlets in NYC--including Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and
Associated Press--to preview the annual meeting press program, and these
embargoed press releases are the key to those meetings. We will also
distribute releases to reporters registered for the meeting (70 already)
on that day so they can begin researching their stories.
All to say--please send your edits/approval today, as we have a more
internal vetting still to be done. If we need to discuss, please phone
me at 202-962-4086, or this weekend on my cell, 202-321-1995.
Thanks so much-the press program is shaping up beautifully and we look
forward to working with you at the meeting.

Dear Dr. Tramo:
Thank you for agreeing to moderate the press conference on "For the
Brain, Music Matters" at the upcoming meeting in Chicago.
Attached is the package of news releases that will be distributed to
registered media. Each researcher has already reviewed and approved
his/her section.
We ask that you please do the following for the overall packet:
Check for accuracy
Confirm your affiliation and contact information
Make any changes in CAPITAL LETTERS or track changes
Inform us of any relationship you have that may be perceived
as a conflict of interest to the media
Packet Overview
Page one (1) of the packet is an overall press conference
release, broken out by abstracts in the first set of bullets, and
lecture/symps/previously published research in the second. Our aim here
is to clearly delineate to reporters what the "new news" is.
Each abstract has a written one-page summary release
immediately following the cover page. We've also included the technical
abstract on the one-pagers.

* The lay language summaries for each of the talks are included,
headlined "Speaker's Summary," and those follow the abstract summaries.
Since time is short, please respond with any changes no later than close
of business on Tuesday, September 8.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at
ksnodgrass@sfn.org<mailto:ksnodgrass@sfn.org>.
Best regards,
Kat Snodgrass
