As I just mentioned to you, I did not believe that Astron made the type of frequency converter that is required, so I called Astron and spoke with "Fred'. They do not make what is required to increase the amount of 115vAC 60Hz power. Astron Corporation 9 Autry Irvine. This system was presented to you in Option 17 of our proposal ER013007R4 dated June 24th. This system included the required installation of an aircraft frequency converter (KGS HS200) and clearly identified the output capacity of the converter as well as the amperage requirements of the proposed system. "One (1) HS200 aircraft frequency converter: The existing frequency converter is underpowered. Replace this converter with one (1) new HS200, 2000 watt (18.18 amps) frequency converter dedicated to supply 110Vac power to the entertainment system components (requires 14 amps). Replaces one of the existing 1000 watt converters." EFTA00977644 Further, Option 18 of the same proposal clearly identified how the -remaining" outlets / microwave power distribution would be effected. "Frequency Converter The remaining 1000 watt inverter is not capable of supporting all of the cabin outlets and the microwave oven. If customer wants to keep this unit, three (3) outlets must be removed and a switch for "either/ or" would need to be installed to select either "microwave"or "cabin outlets". We propose procuring one (1) overhauled 2000 watt converter to supply enough 110 power to support the cabin outlets and microwave oven." Below is a quote I worked my pricing from that I received from the folks here at Hawthorne for the installation of a KGS HS200 Converter: 1.0 Install new 115VAC 60 Hertz (Hz) KGS HS200 Converter for Cabin Entertainment System. Installation Description: • Install new KGS HS200 Converter. • Provide 115VAC 60 Hz electrical power for Cabin Entertainment System. • Interface Cockpit Cabin Master to new converter. • Cabin electrical outlets power will be supplied by new inverter if it can not be supplied by item 5 above. • Existing outlets will be reused. If customer requires additional outlet it will be quoted separately. • Quoted price does not include open/close-up of the aircraft and modification of cabinetry for outlets if required. This will be done on T&M. • Ten working days will be required to accomplish the installation. Firm price Parts and Labor: $23,067.00 Accepted Signature Date Title Jim Stedmans e-mail to you- On Wednesday, November 27, 2013, Jim Stedman wrote: "No sir, I determined not enough 28vdv, you have plenty 115vac 400hz to convert... I recommended then what I recommend now." Jim has identified exactly what we have said all along. The aircraft does not have enough enough 110vAC (60Hz) power to support a "residential type" entertainment system without adversely affecting other existing 110vAC equipment. In order to do so, a frequency converter(s) will be required to convert the 100vAC 400Hz to 110vAC 60Hz. On June 25th I received an e-mail from Larry that you were interested in a 12vDC car system- "Eric, OK Jeffrey likes this idea,,,, Jeffrey, I spoke to Eric, he is open minded to installing a 12vdc car system in the GIV now. Here is what I propose: -install Car receiver touch screen type in credenza with built in EQ and Bluetooth for wireless music streaming from Ipad. -Two JL Audio 13TW5V2 subwoofers, ultra thin 2.5 inch SUBWOOFERS in fwd and aft of credenza. -install two channel 500watt car amps to run subwoofers. -install 8 of Eric Roth's Aviation speakers in PSU, four on each side, (Eric swears by these speakers). -install dual four channel car amps to power the 8 speakers -install carry on 32" LED Samsung TV for use on credenza top. -lpad connection location by Conference table to provide video source to 32" TV -also IPAD will have connection switchology to display video on new Fwd bulkhead screen also,. I will have Eric quote this,,,, we could purchase the equipment, and Eric would provide the labor and Speakers only EFTA00977645 do you approve of this idea? thank you, Larry" Jeffrey, I want to provide you with a solution, but we need a solid and clear direction from you. Car entertainment / home entertainment, high definition / standard definition, CMS control, new wiring, new video distribution, etc. ERIC H.
