Hi Larry,
These are pages for the LP air system from an Environmental system book that we have.
The basics are the HP air is looking for pressure and shuttles between 7th and 12th stage bleed off the engine.
This is the air for cooling/heating, pressurization, wing heat, door seals and everything else that needs air.
The LP system uses Fan bypass air to cool the HP air- they do not mix, the LP blows across the pre-cooler
(radiator) in the applicable pylon.
The LP manages the Temperature, not pressure. (400 degrees)
The Servo air pressure regulator and Torque motor at the end of the pages is what is involved.
The unit is in the tail, and when given electrical signals, varies the air supply to modulate the valve in the
pylon.
This air is supplied through the line that we changed.
That's it in a nutshell- I may have to go back to school someday, it's been 17 years!
Regards,
Pete
