Dear Mr. Epstein,
It would be a great pleasure if you could join us for the 55th "Wiener Opemball" which will
take place on the 3rd of March 2011.
We will begin the evening with a dinner at the Hotel Bristol at 19:30, after which we will
walk across the street to the beautiful and historic Vienna Staatsoper where two boxes have
been generously made available to us by friends of IPI.
The ball opens with the entrance of the debutantes, and a cultural programme, after which we
will be invited to waltz the night away.
Information regarding the programme and the dress code is attached. Please be aware that the
dress code is obligatory.
I look forward to spending a memorable evening with you and other distinguished friends of
IPI at the highlight of the ball season in Vienna.
Sincerely yours
LA

Dear Madam, dear Gentleman,
We are very glad to welcome you as our guest to the Wiener Opemball.
The "Wiener Opemball" will take place on the 3rd of March 2011 at the Wiener Staatsoper.
The dresscode for ladies is a long evening gown, for gentlemen tails and decorations.
Guests will arrive at the main entrance of the Staatsoper starting at 9:30 p.m. and walk to their
boxes. There is a possibility to "walk the red carpet" on the Feststiege or enter from a side
entrance and go directly to your box.
Guests are asked to be seated at 10 p.m. The Ball starts officially with the arrival of the
Austrian Head of State, President Heinz Fischer.
After the opening ceremony, which lasts about forty minutes and includes the performance of
the Young Ladies' and Young Gentlemen's dance committee you have the possibility to use
the various dance floors until 5 a.m. Including the main Ball Room there are many different
locations in the Opera House where you will be able to dance: altogether there are seven
orchestras or entertainers and a disco in the souterrain.
At midnight and at 3 a.m. the quadrille from the operetta "The Bat" by Johann Strauss will be
performed at the main Ball Room. All guests are cordially invited to take part in the quadrille,
when the traditional dance routine is announced.
