My team and I pitched GatewayScandinavia for a couple of investors last month. They believed in our idea, but gave us the following feedback: I. Create a highly digitalised platform with candidates before selling our services to companies; 2. Create barriers to entry through a.) Establishing personal relationships with the emerging market's top 50 engineering universities, and b.) Creating a large database with students/alumnus; 3. Attract an influential advisory board. After an interesting and highly stimulating course (taught by professor Mthuli Ncube) as well as several discussions with influential individuals in South Africa last week, I cannot help questioning that maybe GatewayScandinavia should focus on creating a digitalised database with engineers in Africa, India, and China. My contract only lasts as long as my visa is valid. Since my visa expires in the end of June next year, I need to find an apartment for only 8 months and this is NOT easy in New York City.
