OCTOBER 18, 2012
This week's projects promise pop spectacle, crying in public, and adventures going

;;Polyphonic Spree's Next Studio Larger than life
Album, Live Album & DVD
When your artistic vision involves twenty-odd
musicians, an orchestra's worth of instruments,
and a trunk of flowing robes, just playing a
single gig feels like a triumph. With infectious
glee, The Polyphonic Spree have lived this
vision for more than a decade — defying the
odds to remain supersized. Now, the band is
turning to fans for its upcoming work: a new
studio album, tour documentary, and
Polyphonic Spree's Next Studio Album, Live accompanying live record. Sometimes, more is
Album 84 DVD more.

RNowhere Magazine Have words, will travel
Nowhere is a digital travel magazine that
publishes dispatches from ancient sea
crossings, rural farms, and remote islands
alike. Each adventure is illustrated by an array
of found objects, field notes, and other
interactive explorer's ephemera, resulting in a
thrilling narrative that can whisk readers away
to just about any destination. Now, with the
magazine's more portable tablet edition, we

RAcceptable Reasons to Cry in Public Cry me a river
Sidewalks. Gas stations. Benches. According
to the artists behind Acceptable Reasons to
Cry in Public, these are all perfectly good
places for a public breakdown. (We've been
there.) The tone may be tongue-in-cheek, but
the mission of its creators is in eamest —
they'll print the manifesto as a series of
broadside posters, and encourage backers to
exhibit them in public places. Just the thought
Acceptable Reasons to Cry In Public is making us misty.
