Michael,
I want to put together a drawing for you but I =eed to clarify a couple of things first.
• So =he building was not erected according to plans, it was modified =omewhat in the field? The
building was a fully sheeted =uilding. So the erector opened up the left end wall to 8'2 =80 and the back side wall to
10'6" but was sheeted ='6" past the roof of the 14" slab. How =eep is the retaining wall?
• Are the (2) 12' x =4' doors on the marked up dwg you sent back (front side wall =nd right end
wall) to be included in these locations? Are we =dding a third rollup door in bay #3 of the front side wall where you
=urrently have a 15' rough opening?
Assuming the above is =orrect this is what I would propose.
We =reviously had the left end wall as a flush girt condition. I =ould change it to a bypass girt so that the
girt would extend =0"(depth of girt) past the face of the column. This way a) the =anel would lap over the retaining
wall(if it is 10" or less =eep) for a good seal and b) would allow us to shift the columns in =0". This will clear the existing
anchor bolts which will =e cut off and providing the pier is sufficient in width, would save a =hole lot of time and labor
on those (4) left end wall columns.
I'd leave the back side wall open to 10'6 =9D, sheet above the roof and provide a wall to roof flashing.
='m assuming the slab is all even elevation?
I =hink if we change the bay spacings slightly(less than a foot in most =ases) we can avoid having to do a
lot of the demolition.
