This feels like a ticky-tacky thing that isn't worth fighting, and I worry that your fighting about it will give
the impression that you have no idea how trouble you're in. I worry that it will make you look a little
oblivious, which would hurt your credibility as you move forward with this process. Happy to discuss on the
call.

Patrick, given that you informed me that paid leave was not a disciplinary action, and that I could come on
campus and not be hindered from other things that relate to my own work as a result of the administrative
EFTA01022840
leave that was arbitrarily imposed, I don't understand how withholding funds that support my own work is
not punitive, and does not violate the claim that the leave is not punitive.
As for Jessica, my contract provides me an executive assistant to support my own work. The letter from
the Provost indicated my Origins appointment and my Foundation professorship, which were to be
renewed every 5 years, were not being renewed. There is no such deadline for the executive assistant that
was contractually provided to me in my offer letter, so I will continue to use Jessica when I need her,
unless the college provides me with someone else. I understand that with me being on leave that
Jessica's time was not being filled, so I am glad she is assisting with Beyond, but I will assume she will
continue to assist me as needed as per my offer contract with the University.

Lawrence, given you are on paid administrative leave with no ASU responsibilities, the research accounts are not
available.
Also, please send me any requests or questions directly as Jessica S is now assigned to the Beyond Center.
Thanks, Pat

OK, thanks.
Lawrence is also wondering if he can have access to his ASU accounts for other research related costs.
Thanks,

Hi Jessica, yes, Professor Kruass can use funds allocated to him to pay his travel to ASU from Portland and return.
I know you are no longer assigned to Professor Krauss; however, I am guessing he is not familiar with the various
changes in the travel system at ASU. So, please assist him with the booking and payment for flights.
Thanks, Pat
